Vanderpump Rules: Pucker & Pout
Tuesday, April 17, 2018NOT VEGAN FRIENDLY!
Reality TV has given people the platform to stick their name onto a product and sell it. Gretchen Rossi from Real Housewives of Orange County tried her hand with her beauty products in the failed line Gretchen Christine. Teresa Giudice of Real Housewives of New Jersey tried with her failed hair care line Milania, which she was sued for. Lilly Ghalichi of Shahs of Sunset has somewhat successfully launched and maintained her lash line called Lilly's Lashes which when first launched to be discovered nothing more than badly packaged private label lashes. There were others but the latest Bravo TV personality is Katie Maloney from Vanderpump Rules who launched a limited edition collection of lipsticks and lip liners with industry makeup artist Julie Hewitt.
Named after her beauty blog Pucker & Pout, Katie and Julie have launched three shades called Pucker, Pout, and Pump at $28 each. Two lipliners - Nude and Lovely - will also join the limited edition collection at $18 a piece.

May Contain (+/-): Mica, Iron Oxides, Titanium Dioxide, Ultramarines, Manganese Violet. The lip liners are definitely NOT vegan as it contains cera alba, aka beeswax. So if you're a vegan these two products (lipsticks and lip liners) are not vegan-friendly.

Unfortunately, at this high price point, I'll be passing on purchasing her products especially since the cosmetics are made by private label manufacturer Auraline Beauty whose products are on par with Lady Burd Cosmetics. In fact, the lipliners Nude and Lovely aren't even renamed!

Auraline Beauty Flawless Lipstick in HOT PINK.

Auraline Beauty Flawless Lipstick in GLOW.

Auraline Beauty Flawless Lipstick in CORAL FLOWER.

Auraline Beauty Lip Liner Pencil in LOVELY.

Auraline Beauty Lip Liner Pencil in NUDE.
So what do you think? Is this a must have or a pass for you at that price point? Or will you still buy it because you're a Katie Maloney or Vanderpump Rules fan?
UPDATE: Katie Maloney claims on Instagram that her lipsticks are vegan. Her manufacturer page lists the products may or may not contain carmine which means her lipsticks are not necessarily vegan while the lip liners definitely are not vegan as it contains beeswax. After replying to someone on Instagram she blocked me from the Pucker and Pout Instagram page which confirms what I said about her products. At no time was I disrespectful to her or her company and that I merely said something along the lines of, "Katie you should let your vegan fans know these are not vegan as the lipsticks may contain carmine and the lip liners do contain beeswax."
