My Thoughts: Sephora's Give Me Some Lip

Tuesday, November 05, 2013

So a few days ago I posted a few of my favorite lip sets from Sephora. Well my order came today and I'm super happy with it! I ordered the Give Me Some Lip (retail $25) basically because of the Tarte LipSurgence since it's full size (retail $22) and basically everything else in the box was "free". That's my justification and I'm sticking to it! LOL

First the packaging. The exterior packaging is cute with the little "lace cutouts". The box that holds all the products is a metallic blush pink that can be reused or re-purposed if you take the little cardboard out of it.

Onto the products!
  1. Laura Mercier Lip Glacé in Bare Pink, 0.1 oz
  2. Buxom® Full-On™ Lip Polish in Dolly, 0.07 oz
  3. NARS Lip Gloss in Turkish Delight, 0.14 oz
  4. Fresh Sugar Rosé Tinted Lip Treatment, 0.08 oz
  5. Bite Beauty High Pigment Pencil in Rhubarb, 0.05 oz
  6. Tarte LipSurgence™ Lip Luster in Glitzy, 0.1 oz [full size!]

For my personal use I already know that the three main items I'll use the most of will be the Sugar (I've used up a few of these deluxe sample sizes already), Buxom lip gloss and Tarte LipSurgence. The LipSurgence is by far my favorite not just because it's full size but I really like the color. I'm always hearing good things about Turkish Delight from NARS so I'm thrilled to finally have it in my collection. Bite Beauty is completely new to me so I'm excited to try that and of course Laura Mercier is another product I'm excited to try.

Overall, the $25 price tag is an absolutely steal because the Tarte LipSurgence already is $22 so for $3 more you're getting five deluxe size products of really good brands and products. Now I'm going to order the Give Me More Lip (item # 1552116) kit because that's $59 and it has something four full size products that exceed the $59 price tag! PLUS with their promo code BLITZ you get a cosmetic bag with some more deluxe size samples. Oh yeah, Sephora knows how to get me to fork over my money! LOL

  1. Have you tried the Fresh Sugar Rosé Tinted Lip Treatment yet? If so, how do you like it? I've been wanting to try it but can't justify it yet lol

    1. I have! I actually have several of the sample sizes. I'd never purchase a full size because these are commonly sent out in beauty box subscriptions or given as deluxe sample from Sephora. I actually do like it, it tends to melt easily so it applies like butter. On me the tint isn't so noticeable. I tend to have to fight my girls for it because it's one of my few lip balms that they tend to swipe. Granted they swipe a lot of my lip glosses they normally don't swipe the lip balms except for this one and my lemon one from CO Bigelow.

  2. Thank you so much for posting this review; I wouldn't have purchased the set without it. I wanted to try the Tarte pencil and Hello Dolly gloss (since I didn't get it in the October ipsy bag). I learned that I don't really like either of them - the pencil has a chemical taste to me although it applies nicely, and the Buxom gloss tingles for hours on me which can get uncomfortable. However, I learned that I really love the Fresh Sugar treatment (although the tint doesn't show up on my lips) and the Bite pencil is a new favorite. I got what I wanted out of the experiment, for sure, and now I'll have to buy the bigger set.
