Another year has come and gone and with it came the 2019 Lucky Bag sale from Beautylish*.

Unfortunately, while I wasn't able to score the XL bag (box) but I managed to snag the Original Lucky Bag in Fair-Medium. My box shipped January 20, 2019, via UPS weighing 1.6 pounds (according to the label).

Ready to see what's inside?
As a reminder, every year in December - typically the day after Christmas - Beautylish* offers several Lucky Bags starting at $75 and going up to $150. I chose the regular Lucky Bag in Fair-Medium at $75 plus shipping (next year there will be tax on it).

GOOD MOLECULES Wake Up Eye Serum* $8

Let me start with the Good Molecules product. I don't know if this is a new line that Nicola Kilner recommended to Beautylish* after Brandon Truaxe, then CEO of Deciem, unexpectedly dropped Beautylish* last year or if it has nothing to do with Victoria Health's Garden of Wisdom. The website to Good Molecules does state that prices start at $6 so it seems to be on par with Deciem.

According to the packaging, the company is based out of Hollywood, CA and the item I received was made in Korea. I did try it and will have a full review of it later this week. First impressions: I like it. It does feel like it has a tightening/firming up feeling to my eye area (it contains caffeine). If the skincare is on par with Deciem and at a budget-friendly price I'll be happy to try other products from this line.

Charlotte Tilbury Luxury Palette - The Dolce Vita* $53

This is my second item from Charlotte Tilbury as my first piece of cosmetic item came in my 2018 Lucky Bag from Beautylish* last year. I've had my eye on this eye palette for a while so I'm thrilled with what came in my box.

BOSCIA Dig Deep - The Charcoal Skin Kit* - $36

I have used this product before and I've given it as a gift before to one of my daughters. It's not a bad mask and I know I'll eventually use it.

SONIA G.Crease Pro* - $32

Never heard of Sonia G before but apparently, she's a beauty blogger with a makeup brush collection so it makes her an expert on makeup brushes. Her brushes are made in Japan so the quality of the brushes is supposed to be really good.

As for the brush I received in my Lucky Bag, the handle is beautiful. It's lightweight, balances nicely in my hand. It's made by Kumanofude Japan. While I'll use this brush I doubt I'll buy any more from this collection.

MYKITCO. My Mini PVC Box Bag* - $8

MYKITCO is a very popular brand among professional makeup artists. Unfortunately, it also tends to sell out fast at pro stores that carry her line so I'm thrilled that I got one in my Lucky Bag. While I'm no longer working with clients I still use similar bags for my makeup brushes.

JOUER COSMETICS Best of Lip Toppers Mini Gift Set* - $33

Last but not least is Jouer Cosmetics Best of Lip Toppers mini set. I've owned and used Jouer products in the past including some of their lip glosses. I know I won't be disappointed by the quality of the toppers.

Overall thoughts on the items in the box.

While I DO like all the items I'm a bit disappointed to receive yet another makeup brush. Least this year it's from Sonia G and not another Wayne Goss brush. I would have liked to have received either another skin care item or another cosmetic item (of the same or similar value) but no more brushes. I'm extremely picky about my brushes and I love Japanese brushes but I don't like random single brushes sent to me. The single brush sent out always seems to be the same type of brush. In the past, I've received the Wayne Goss Brush 04 Small Eye Shadow Crease Brush (in 2015), Brush 05 Precision Detail Brush (in 2016 & 2017), Brush 18 Eye Shadow Blending Brush* (in 2018). Don't get me wrong, I'll use the brush BUT no more single eye brushes, please! LOL I'll take a face brush or a full set (but not if it means less makeup in the box).

Am I disappointed in my box? Not at all. I have seen some "original" ($75) boxes with Natasha Denona or Viseart so obviously I'd be thrilled with those items but what came in my box are all items I'll use but it doesn't make me excited.

This might be my last year purchasing the original Lucky Bag. I wasn't able to score the XL box due to the fact that the sale went live at the exact moment my granddaughter was born so I was a little busy falling in love with her to snag the XL box. ;) If I buy a box next year it'll be the XL box ($175 + shipping + tax) if I can manage to snag one or it won't be any at all.
