Lime Crime acquired by Tengram Capital

Lime Crime Cosmetics was founded in 2008 by Xenia Vorotova, better known as Doe Deere, and her husband Mark Dumbelton. Prior to that, Lime Crime was Doe's blog where she posted makeup tutorials. I won't get into Doe's sordid history of her days on LiveJournal or her Hitler costume but suffice it to say her love of makeup led to her creating a company that's been riddled with problems, drama, data breaches and legal entanglements including a class action lawsuit. On June 18, 2018, it was announced that Tengram Capital had acquired Lime Crime for an undisclosed amount of money.
According to the press release from Alison Brod Marketing, Doe has stepped down from her daily duties at Lime Crime but will remain on the board of directors while Stacy Panagakis will be the new CEO working with Chief Creative Officer Sasha Valentine. Earlier this year, Doe announced that she and her husband are expecting a daughter later this year with the help of a surrogate.
Richard Gersten, Partner at Tengram, stated, "Lime Crime is truly unique among beauty brands, with a powerful following and a deep understanding of its consumers and their expressive approach to cosmetics. We have tremendous appreciation for what Doe, Sasha Valentine and the team have built over the past ten years: a revolutionary brand that empowers consumers to express themselves and inspires them to push past the traditional limits of beauty. In an era of beauty brand proliferation, Lime Crime's authenticity and innovation stands above the rest. Lime Crime is a tremendous fit in our strong portfolio of beauty brands, and we look forward to leveraging our experience to help the Lime Crime team achieve its growth prospects."
