PopSugar Must Have: My May 2014 box

Thursday, June 12, 2014

My May PopSugar Must Have box came while I was in the middle of moving from Washington State to Massachusetts. Long story short on the move, I ended up keeping the box with me as my husband and children traveled cross county by vehicle while my eldest and I ended up flying out. I'm glad I forgot to pack this in the trailer since a few of the items came in handy during our  stay with friends and our trip to our new home. Unfortunately, I didn't take pictures of the box content at the time and since then have a few of the items still packed or no longer have other items so this is basically a picture free blog post this month.

Hi, I’m Skinny Sticks in Multi-Grain Sweet Onion
I've liked a few of the snacks that PopSugar has sent out in recent past boxes and the Hi, I'm Skinny Sticks are no exception. I'm normally not an onion fan unless it's onion rings or a Bloomin' Onion from Outback. These really don't taste like I expected but really reminded me of an air baked potato chip with an onion flavor.

I'd buy these again if these were sold locally but the nearest store to me that carries it is 30 minutes away, thank goodness for Amazon because not only are the onion variety available there but several other varieties like Cheddar Multigrain and Sea Salt. The price on Amazon is a little higher than suggested retail ($2.99) but if I factor the price for gas to drive up to the closest store that sells these... well I'd be essentially be paying more to take a little road trip. Maybe next time I'm visiting my in-laws I'll stop at The Fresh Market.

Kerry Cassill Eye Mask
I love this mask and used it nightly while staying with friends while my eldest was in the hospital. I think I lost this while on the flight from Dallas to Boston since I had it with me on the plane but haven't seen it since. It could be in one of the carry on bags I have yet to unpack but am not sure at this point what I did with it. While cute as this mask is I can tell you I wouldn't buy this since it's $24! I'll stick with my Dollar Tree masks for $1.

Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Nail Lacquer in Pool Boy
I have a love-hate relation with OCC cosmetics. Love their products, own many items, but hate the fact that I don't have more of their nail polishes! LOL In fact Pool Boy is my first OCC nail polish and it's kind of reignited my nail polish hoarding tendencies. LOL I must have more OCC polishes! Retail: $10. I think I'll pick up more OCC polishes at IMATS since it's less expensive there.

The color is a pale blue and it does match Pool Boy Lip Tar and liner. I miss Pool Boy Lip Tars but the liner is a perfect substitute for the fact Pool Boy LT is no longer sold.

Smell Bent St. Tropez Dispenser
This was a big pass for me. I did try it and didn't care for the scent at all. I think the aloe vera scent mixed with Jasmine and musk plus coconut was just a clash of fragrances for my personal taste. My eldest daughter likes it so I'm passing it to her once I remember which suitcase it's packed in. At $45 for the 1.7 oz bottle, I'm happy I didn't pay for it out of pocket.

Tone It Up One Day Fat Blast
This video has been claimed by my eldest. She saw it in the box, the day the box came, and ripped it right out of my hands. Haven't seen the video since but I know she has it still. LOL It sells on Amazon for less than the $19.99 retail price.

Zing Anything Citrus Zinger
This water bottle has been the center of a battle with my kids. They love it because you can squeeze oranges, lemons or any type of citrus on the bottom and use the bottom to hold the piece of citrus. I think I'm going to buy a couple more and at $16.99 it's not too bad of a price.

Overall, it was a really good box and for $39.95 (I got mine for free thanks to referrals) the box was a steal considering the overall box value was close to $120. PopSugar has quickly become one of my favorite LIFESTYLE subscription boxes and has introduced me to items I normally would never consider trying much less buying.
