My Thoughts: Boots Botanics Shine Away Ionic Clay Mask

Thursday, March 13, 2014

So a couple of weeks ago my J'Adore VoxBox from Influenster arrived and among the items inside was the Boots Botanics Shine Away Ionic Clay Mask. I finally gave it ago today and I have to say I'm impressed.

From Boots website:
Suitable for all skin types but particularly good for oily skin to combination skin, this face mask actively removes impurities and deeply cleanses. Enriched with clarifying willowbark.

I have combination skin that sometimes leans towards the oily side depending on the season. In the fall and winter my skin will lean towards the dry side and I'm practically living in lotions, potions and oils which doesn't always help. During the spring and summer my skin leans towards the oils side and it can get so bad that makeup will just slide right off my face.

So I finally got around to using the Boots Beauty USA Ionic Clay Mask Shine Away that I received in my Influenster #JAdoreVoxBox. 1) I was surprised how thin and watery it is unlike traditional masks and 2) how quickly it began to dry. When 10 minutes passed I could see all the oil in my T-zone area that the mask absorbed, gross and yuk. After washing it off my skin felt dry and tight as expected after using a mask. I did have to use a moisturizer to add a moisture back into my skin.

Over all, loving this mask. I think once I use it all up over the next few months I'll have to evaluate if I'd purchase it.
