Wantable: My November box

So after I did a review of the Halloween limited edition box I decided to join Wantable at the end of October. I've heard nothing but positive things about Wantable despite the price being $36 per month ($40 for a one-time only box).

I received:
  1. Lise Watier Ombred Souffle Supreme sample, retail $0
  2. True Color Lip Cream in Barely There (it lights up!), retail $22
  3. Loose blush in Amorous by Brazen, retail $19
  4. Heaven's Dust in Angel Gold by Girlactik Beauty, retail $19
Total box retail value: $60

This is my first "I paid for" box from them after reviewing (and loving) their Halloween limited edition box. When I mean "I paid for" I actually had a $35 credit plus a discount so the box was free again (and I have a $3 credit for next month). It's still my first "real" box with them outside the Halloween LE box and so I'm happy with the products.

That said, after I posted about it on MakeupTalk it came to my attention that this month Wantable had changed the amount of products they sent out; in the past it was 4 to 6 items with a total retail starting at $80. Here's what I was told by one of the members of MakeupTalk.

They did a complete switch a roo on members. I am skipping boxes until they change back to their original model of 4-6 items, box value of 80-100 dollars.  Their responses to me have been just disrespectful - they take me for a fool or something.

Now Wantable did reply back (they're former advertisers on MUT however since they no longer are they no longer post on MUT until they posted this):
Hey guys!

Unfortunately, we can't post on here as often as we'd like, but I wanted to reach out to you guys and offer you the option to email me at hello@wantable.com so I can help with all of the issue you guys have been posting about! I also wanted to let you know what's going on with our Makeup Box :)

So, at Wantable, our #1 goal is customer satisfaction. We received a lot of feedback from customers that they wanted to see new and exciting brands with a higher price point. We brought those in (such as DEX and Girlactik), but then felt that we may need to lower the number of items in each box to make room for these new brands. That’s why we decided to decrease the number to 3-4 products per makeup box.

After much deliberation and helpful feedback from our customers, we decided to reverse this decision and go back to 4-5 items per makeup box. It will be more difficult, but like the great Tim Gunn says, we'll "make it work!" Thank you to everyone who took the time to email or contact us via social media. Please feel free to reach out to us at hello@wantable.com if you have any further questions, comments, or concerns. We’d love to chat!

So, bottom line, is we're back! 4 to 5 brand name items, AND new brands like DEX (Lady Gaga's a fan!), Starlooks, Girlactik, and ncLA polishes, which Beyonce wore in her Pepsi superbowl commercials!

Please please email us if they're is anything we can do to make you a happy or happier customer. Thanks!
I haven't contacted them about my box but I can see why members prior to this month are upset. Me, I'm actually pleased with my box, as I said I used my credits so I didn't pay for this box out of pocket which is probably why I don't feel I have the right to be upset.

Do I like the items that came? Yes.
Will I use everything in this box? No.
Why not? Because the Heaven's Dust is something I normally wouldn't use in the first place but it's something I may pass along to my eldest daughter. I may end up keeping it to get myself out of this comfort zone/rut I've put myself in lately.

Now the lip cream, oh baby, I'm loving that color. It's gorgeous. I may have to find a dupe for this in a solid lipstick but I'm loving the color. How well it wears, does it bleed and all that I don't know yet. Oh and did I mention the lip cream lights up? I have a few other lip glosses (from Artistry) that does that and a couple from pH Physicians which I like. I'm like a cat and lights catch my attention. Sure it's a gimmick but it's a gimmick that sucks me right in. lol

As for the blush, love the color as well. I think it's going to be a flattering coloring on me but I have a love-hate relationship with loose blushes. Love the loose blush since most tend to be very pigmented but hate it because loose blushes can be easily over applied and fast. So I would suggest to put a bit in the cap, lightly pick up with the brush and tap to remove excess then apply with a light hand. Adding more is easier than taking off.
